“Reflection on Audience Awareness”.
1. Linda Flower stresses the importance of audience awareness in composing while Elbow concludes that the question/issue with audience awareness is when. How would you explain the connections between these two points of view?
I would say that it is important to follow both ideas because you do need to ignore the audience as author Elbow said in order to fully write your ideas and write everything that you need to get your point of view across. It is also important how the author Linda Flower explained that you do take in consideration your audience in order to write something that will be organized enough and that will make your audience understand you point. You combine both by writing your ideas freely and then organizing them and this is what is called audience awareness which is a combination of both ideas and making it a better way of writing.
2. In general, what have you learned from Linda Flower’s and Peter Elbow’s article as a writer and as a reader?
I learned that being able to write your ideas without thinking of anyone is the best way to start but once you have a certain idea it is always good to take those ideas and organize them in a way that could be understandable for the audience. That is taking in consideration both ideas of Writer-Based prose and Reader-Based prose and also becoming aware of audience awareness which is very important when writing a paper.
